A young pupil wanted to prove his commitment and trust in his teacher.  “Master, I want you to see how much I trust you with my life.  Give me a challenge, ask me to do anything, and I will do it—no matter how dangerous,” he spouted confidently.

“If you insist, I will not refuse you.  But take a night’s sleep before demanding this of me,” replied the teacher softly.

“Very well, I will take a night’s sleep.”

The next day the pupil returned more adamant than ever, “Please master, you must see how devoted I am to you.  It is important to me.”

The Rock has just launched a new website called the ecotone project.  This idea is to have a growing collection of people’s experiences with Jesus; how he has touched their lives and hearts; how they have fallen in love.  This could be in the form of a testimony, but could also be a story, or poem, song, a picture of a painting you’ve done, a video you’ve made, etc.
Our dream is to have a place where people can come and see how Jesus is moving in other people’s lives.  Having just launched the site, what we need right now is content.  Read the rest of this entry »

Fragments prattling about my insides; resonating with aborted thoughts and half-born emotions and disfiguring bits of insecurity.  The unknown stirs such things; no, it is the fear of the unknown.  It is that—the unknown— which assails my delusion of control so adroitly as to conjure up past rumblings and insecurities of failure and loss of control to the point of exposure.  My shame the only garment left to cover myself.
