More Integration

Posted by MIKE under Podcast

Two Fools on the Road to Emmaus Podcast – The guys conclude last week’s conversation by examining the parallel ditches of hyper-intellectualism and flakiness. They ruminate about the prominent trend in Western Christianity of having relationship with concepts and ideas about God, as opposed to the person of Jesus himself.

Integration

Two Fools on the Road to Emmaus Podcast – Why do we always seem to gravitate toward unbalanced extremes?  In life we relate to each other both intellectually and through shared experience.  In this episode Mark and Mike talk about their journeys through hyper-intellectualism and flaky ‘charismania’, and how God is leading them to find life somewhere in the middle.

This week Mike and Mark dig deeper into the issue of the masks we wear, and examine how we cut ourselves off from authentic relationship with others and from experiencing God’s love in a deep way by wearing those masks.

Mike referenced Greg Boyds book “Repenting of Religion: Turning from Judgment to the Love of God.”

Recorded in the shadow of Canada’s loss to the US in Mens Hockey in round robin play last week, the guys lampoon their ‘Home and Native Land’!

They are excited about a new website they’ve launched called The Ecotone Project.  They invite the listeners to participate by sending in their experiences with Jesus, to be posted on the site.  Eventually they begin a discussion on hiding, and how we often relate to each other and God through masks.  Look for more on hiding and masks next week.

Hooray!  Canada took Gold in Mens Ice Hockey yesterday! Yahoo and phew!
