Peacemakers

Two Fools on the Road to Emmaus Podcast – Following some violent protests at the recent G20 summit in Toronto, the guys begin discussing non-violent protest vs. pacifism.  This leads into an exploration of the way we relate to each other in terms of power, and raises questions of how we choose to either lay down our rights (power) or cling to them, each day.

Two Fools on the Road to Emmaus Podcast -”What The Heck Were They Thinking” is back as the guys continue from last week.  They ask whether The Kingdom can be shaken, and wonder if there isn’t another reason we’re so afraid of getting it wrong.

The Scarlet H!

Two Fools on the Road to Emmaus Podcast - This week the guys are launched into a discussion about how we evaluate and engage the world around us, by a Christian educator who openly admits he doesn’t want his pupils to think for themselves.  In light of this issue the guys examine the difficulty of living in the “(Mis)information age” with strongly partisan media, and ask: can we trust Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth, or should we label everyone who has questions a heretic?

This week Mike and Mark conclude their discussion from “Pact With The Devil”, and focus on the theology of “Penal Substitution” as the heart of the issue.

angryboyTwo Fools on the Road to Emmaus Podcast -   Michael and Mark dive right in with a concern that unfortunately happens on occasion.  Folks who have decided to leave institutional forms of Church for deeper relationships with Jesus can often get caught in the anger.  Some communities can become unhealthy because they are founded upon anger towards the institution instead of Life in Jesus.

Anger can be a very healthy emotion and can be helpful to motivate us to change unhealthy situations but we can’t live in that anger or it poisons us, it turns to bitterness.  The guys give us a friendly reminder that we left big box church to find life, lets keep focused on that life in Jesus and move forward into health.
