A favorite author of mine, writing about healthy humility explains: "Humility is not a low opinion of yourself rather it is  no opinion of yourself". These words from Brennan Manning have broken us in so many ways as we wrestle to simply  be. Another definition of healthy humility is simply "coming into agreement with who God says we are". We would love this kind of humility to permeate who we are, yet in trying to share a little bit of ourselves with you, we still seem to find ourselves going from one ditch to another. We are so capable of grand boasts and equally false humility. This is a line many struggle with. How do we give you some idea of who we are without it sounding like a resume' or marketing pitch?

Well, right now... we just don't know.

We are Mark Lang and Michael Rose. I can tell you that we are two guys, 10 years apart in age who have walked very different roads and discovered the same Jesus. One grew up a pastor's kid, the other grew up with no church. Both of us found Jesus in the midst of life and now we walk together, with many others, living real life with a real Jesus. We have two simple goals in life: to love God and to love people; then relationally, to help others  do the same.

The musings of this site are simply the reflection of what we have learned on the journey with Jesus. It's the experiences of our lives as individuals, and the shared experiences as we worked together to build a 'successful' church and then led to dismantle it. Ultimately it is an extension of our experience with God as He draws us deeper into His heart via intimacy, which is yielding lives of greater peace, joy, hope and freedom in Jesus.

If what we have to share encourages you, great! If not, that's ok too! Our heart is not to convince you of anything, rather to share the road with you a while.

With love,

Mark and Michael

In May of 2007, Dale and Diane set out into a new adventure and purchased a sushi company based in Lethbridge, Alberta.  Sushimoda Inc. provides quality retail food outlets with fresh, healthy and creative sushi.  Dale and Diane are still involved with speaking across the nation and with The Rock as members of it's core leadership team.
